 When the people whip themselves they all lose but either one side or the other of the financiers win.
 The financiers don’t want Lawson to explain these things to the people. So they won’t let him talk over the radio. Think of it Are they your friends, when they won’t let Lawson talk to you over the radio? They’ll let some skin talk to you, or they’ll let some fellow crack a few funny jokes to you. But they won’t let Lawson teach you how you can have five-fifths of everything you earn instead of one-fifth.
 However the last eight years of my work have brought good results and we now have over two hundred thousand officers in the United States who have signed millions of people to our membership blanks.
 We will let the world know how many millions of good law-abiding Americans have signed applications for membership as soon as we train enough genuine officers to work conscientiously for the rights of little children and feeble old folks.
 The great mass of people want Direct Credits for Everybody. They are waiting for self-sacrificing and reliable leaders to guide them. Lawson will choose and train trustworthy leaders for the people as quickly as possible.
 Only about one out of every thousand who sign for membership can qualify as officers. It takes several years to train reliable leaders.
 Up in Michigan a short time ago, after I got through talking, an old farmer came up and whispered in my ear, “I’ve got a gun over home that I’ll use whenever you say so.”
 Then I said, “We are not going to use guns.”
 “How are you going to lick ’em?” he asked.
 “Well,” said I, “There are so many people in the United States that want Direct Credits that all we will have to do when we are ready is to go to the polls and vote for it—that’s what will lick the financiers. Enough people to vote for it.”
 We don’t have to hate and shoot people to get Direct Credits. We have to play square with everybody and make them love us. If we hate people, they will hate us. Hate begets hate which leads to shooting one another. Nobody hates me nor wants to shoot me because everybody knows that I don’t hate nor want to shoot anybody. Every act has a react. If your act is good, there is a good react. If your act is bad, there is a bad react. If you hate others, then others will hate you. Furthermore, your own hate harms you more than it does others.
 Everybody should study the Direct Credits principles and learn how wonderful and fair they are. Know why they will not harm anybody. Learn how we can give everybody five-fifths of what they earn. Study all of our elevating literature and you will surely help the Direct Credits Society to win, not only for yourself but for your weak children and feeble parents.
