funny, that the financiers would say, “I’ll close the mortgage on your plant right now.”
 These newspaper owners know what is going on. They know Lawson is telling the truth. They would like to tell you that Lawson is right, but they don’t dare. They know that the freedom of the press is gradually being taken away from them. They know that unless something stops it pretty soon there is going to be no free press in this country. So they say, “We should like to get back of Lawson, but we can’t.” Then they add, “but we hope he wins the people’s battle.”
 Pity the poor merchants who pay fees and dues in Merchants Associations to be robbed and put out of business.
 Poor devils, they get up at four in the morning and work until midnight to eke out an existence and finally lose their stores anyway.
 The cards are stacked against the merchants—the dice are loaded that they try to play with. There is positively no chance for final success for them unless they wake up and help to Abolish Interest.
 Several million merchants lost their stores since I began to tell them how to save themselves. They stagger along blindly without heeding my warnings until they flop out of business altogether. They say Lawson is right but the financier will squeeze us out of business if we holler.
 But merchants, it is better to have the financier squeeze you out of business than to have God squeeze you out of heaven.
 Stand for what is right, merchants. The financiers can eliminate you easier when you are wrong because you lose God’s protection unless you are right.
 Stand for what is right while you have the strength to do so.
 I find that God looks after me when I stand for what is right. I gave up the accumulation of money when I founded the Direct Credits Society. I told my Maker, “I am going to live as a moneyless man—as a propertyless man.”
 The Creator tried me out by nearly starving me to death the first year. But He was merely testing my courage, the same as He tests the courage of these merchants to see what sort of stuff they are made of. When He found that I would actually go hungry and even starve if necessary, fighting for the protection of His innocent babies and feeble old folks, He then showered so much food at me that I now have a hard time keeping from growing fat.
 So people, stand for what is right. Don’t be afraid. Right always wins in the end, and wrong always loses in the end. It is the finish of a race that counts.
 The Direct Credits Society stands for right and therefore it is going to win in the end. The international financiers stand for what is wrong and they are going to lose in the end.
 Everything we do is either right or wrong. So, everybody, act right. Don’t act wrong. You will get along all right if you act right. But you nust make personal sacrifices. That is the way the Creator judges your value. He
