rules. So in order to defend our families, homes and principles against destruction we must introduce new rules in the art of self defense that they are not acquainted with.
 We must adopt newer methods and invent newer machines of warfare far beyond anything that the world has ever known before, in order to keep them at a distance from whence they cannot damage our people and properties.
 We must introduce weapons of defense that are as far in advance of their present battleships, tanks and bombers as battleships, tanks and bombers are in advance of battle axes, sling shots and bows and arrows.
 Lazy brains, of course, cannot conceive of such things now any more than the lazy brains could conceive of tanks and bombers thirty-five years ago.
 So, if we do not strengthen ourselves with advanced weapons and methods now, then, when we are attacked in the future, millions of Americans will be slaughtered through the ignorance of our present hind-sightedness just as the people have been slaughtered in Europe because of the hind-sightedness and inertia of those who lived before them.
 YES, I say with emphasis, that the New World must prepare to defend itself against the onslaught of barbarians from the Old World with entirely new means of self defense whereby we can stop them before they can reach our Atlantic or Pacific shores.
 However, the bigger the task the longer it takes to prepare for it. So we must get on the job without any further hindrances.
 Had the governing forces in power more than thirty years ago taken my advice, this country today would be in the lead of any and all Nations in aircraft undertakings.
 Yes, American airplanes would now be as numerous in the spacious skies as American automobiles are now running through crowded roadways. Every child would have been educated in the mechanical arrangement of an airplane and taught how to fly one.
 Furthermore there would have been airports everywhere with their hangars and runways built underground as a protection against destruction.
 But it is hard for old heads to understand new ideas and many advanced plans that I offered years ago were ridiculed at the time by those in power, although many of them have been put into force since.
 There is one thing that must be done right now, however, the very first work of the war that is facing us, and that is; cast out of the New World for all time to come all spies, traitors and plotters as fast as they are discovered in order that our preparations for self defense will not be hampered, slowed up or throttled any further.
