The financiers are soing to trick the politicians just as they have tricked the manufacturer, merchant, farmer and working people. The financiers have the practical newspaper owners by the throat, and because they cannot pay the back interest on the mortgages on their plants, the financiers force them to publish misleading statements, making it appear as if the politicians were the cause of the people’s troubles. They blame the politicians for all of the taxes that the people have to pay, as though they were pocketing the taxes themselves. The people are never permitted to know the truth about it, which is that the largest part of the taxes have to go to the financiers for the interest that they have charged on money loaned to Federal, State, County and Municipal Governments. So they are going to work the people into a state of frenzy against the politicians, and before long employ an army of touts for a speedy campaign over the radio, on the screen and in the papers, and while in a state of hysteria, the people are expected to throw all political officeholders out. That will end the American form of government and the people will then lose their voice in their own management, the freedom of speech, the freedom of press, and everything that has made America a free progressive nation. Under the fantastic promises of the touts who pretend they are against the financiers but who always back up their interest-collection swindle, the people are being trapped into one entanglement after another until they now look like a stupid fly with all legs tied up in the web of a spider. The more advice they take from the apparently friendly touts the tighter the financier ties them up. The touts always use the same bait, but with slightly different hooks PROMISES are the bait that always hook the people. A promise of something for nothing is the touts’ best bait and always lands the fish. But the time has now come when the people must wake up and stop all these petty flimflam artists who put over these puppy tricks on them in order to steal a living. I am ready and willing to show the people every trick the financiers and their touts practice on them, and I don’t want any pay for doing it. The Direct Credits plan will take nothing from anybody but give everything to everybody. The people must study it to learn how such a wonderful program can be established. Direct Credits for Everybody is the people’s program. It is the first and only complete program that the people have ever had during the entire history of the world. Ninety percent of the people who study the Direct Credits program want it and the other ten percent have become so thoroughly saturated with swindling habits that they are almost hopeless just now. The people must learn that any organiza- |
