 The proof that those men in top positions of the Democratic nations lacked foresight is amply shown in the preceding articles that were published many years ago. Such lack of foresight is what gave the barbarians their tremendous jump forward at the start of hostilities.
 These eastern hordes were trained to fight and nothing else. They were taught to fight together as a whole body and not as single individuals.
 They were prepared for all emergencies and their plans to attack the Democracies were made many years before the war was started.
 They were taught and trained to win a war as baseball players are taught and trained to win a ball game.
 A nation cannot win a war without trained soldiers, sailors, airmen and engineers according to present methods any more than a baseball team can win a league championship without trained players.
 Therefore, according to present methods of warfare, in order to defeat these barbarians, Americans must be trained as fighters and fight together as one collective body.
 They must punch the enemy as well as avoid his punches. They must adopt offensive methods as well as defensive ones.
 According to newspaper accounts of the war to date there have been more airplanes destroyed while setting upon the ground than there were destroyed while fighting in the air.
 Had those in charge of such things put their hangars underground, as they were advised by this writer to do many years ago they would have saved this country in money value of the destroyed airplanes upon the ground enough to pay the cost of building underground hangars, besides having the airplanes to fight with instead of having heaps of useless hulks to groan over.
 Had the top-notchers taken seriously the message to Congress by this writer in the year of 1913, when it was actually shown how America would eventually be attacked from the air by both Germany and Japan, and prepared for such an emergency, the Pearl Harbor catastrophe would never have happened.
