The people can be taught to become satisfied with most anything. Human beings can become accustomed to living like rats in a sewer if they are brought up that way.

Well, they swindled 200,000 practical factory owners out of their factories and threw out of employment millions of working people when they shut them up. They stole more than 3,000,000 farms from good American farmers. They stole more than 5,000,000 homes from the American working people. They put out of business more than 3,000,000 merchants. They stole your transportation lines, mines, banks, newspapers, radio, hotels, office buildings and apartment houses. They even stole your millionaires.
 This organization is not against wealth, but we want everybody to produce their share of it and we want everybody to enjoy the full value of their own production. We want to give to everybody a purchasing power equal to their productive power. We want to give everybody justice that harms nobody. Isn’t that what you want? Well, that is what we want to give you.
