Mentality

CHAPTER 35

CONSCIOUSNESS

As previously stated in my book, CREATION, “Consciousness is a state of knowing what happens.

Man’s consciousness is the reaction of intelligence drawn from external sources through the channels of his senses.

It requires intelligent supervision to build and operate the machinery that draws into man intelligence from external sources, and the thinking beings that superintend this work must have excellent minds.

Just as there are formations within formations and currents within currents, so there are living, thinking beings within living, thinking beings.

Just as particles of density make up a unit of density so particles of consciousness make up a unit of consciousness.

There is no particle of density throughout limitless space that is not inhabited by living formations having consciousness.

A living formation does not have to be shaped like a man to have consciousness, neither does it have to be the size of a man, nor moved by the same desires as man to be able to think.

There is as great a difference in consciousness throughout space as there is a difference in density.

The difference in surroundings and experiences of different living formations causes the difference in consciousness.

As air, water, light, odors, sound, heat, cold, darkness and colors are all part of the elements which surround man, his consciousness was developed through those sources.

At the terminal of every mental fiber of man there is a suction and pressure station, which connects with some function that leads to the mind.

Pressure upon any of these terminals causes waves of mentality to pass in currents through the mental fibers and by the nature of these waves the impression is recorded in consciousness.

A thought is an expression brought into form through a combination of mental impressions.

Increased action through the mental instruments develops increased capacity for mental impressions and thoughts.

The conscious mind is the center of feeling, but there could be no consciousness without a physica1 organization to establish and uphold it as there could be no means of harnessing mentality without the instruments which utilize it.

Man would not live long if he had to remain conscious all of the time. So the mind is able to relax and rest while the operating management of the body is superintended by subordinate functions.

When the mind sleeps these subordinate forces direct the internal work of the body and such organs as the heart, lungs and intestines continue to consciously perform their duties.”

Three specific things are required to create consciousness, namely, (I) the substance mentality, (2) the physical instruments to harness it, and (3) the power of suction and pressure to operate it.
