showed the results of a bar-room
fight after the lights had been
turned out. A crafty villain who wanted to rob the patrons of the place scattered his slippery fingered thugs among them and turned the lights out. Then each thug hit the fellow next to him on the nose. In that way they got everybody punching each other in the dark and robbed them of everything they could get their hands on. After the lights were turned on again the fighters appeared to be an unsightly mob with bleeding faces and pockets turned inside out. The cops then rushed in and arrested those who had been robbed for fight- ![]() What apparently took place on a small scale in the picture actually takes place on a large scale throughout the world. The financial villain has turned out the lights of the people and their touts have gotten them started to fight in the dark. Their physical lights may not be out but the mental lights of the people are certainly out. The touts of the financiers get the workingman to fight the manufacturer and when he does that he is fighting in the dark. The light in his brain has been turned out. He does not understand why he fights the man who built the factory and gives him employment but he does it because the financial villain in the background has turned his light of reason out. So, without reason the workingman fights the one who gives him a job instead of stopping the financial villain from stealing his |
