We hear much talk among the people at large about LIFE and DEATH.
 Most people know what they are living for about as much as a stick of fire-wood knows what it is burning for.
 Moreover, the average person doesn’t want to know what he is living for anymore than a stick of fire-wood wants to know what it is burning for.
 Physical life is the result of co-operative action whereby the power of consciousness is graduated in accordance with the quan- The Original Benefactor tity of mentality absorbed through specific apparatus developed for the purpose.
 All living things have more or less consciousness as long as the absorbent apparatus has the power to draw mentality into itself.
 Death is the result of lack of co-operative action whereby the absorbent apparatus has lost its power to draw within itself the necessary quantity of mentality to develop consciousness.
 So, the integration of certain substances causes physical life, and, the disintegration of those same substances causes physical death insofar as they relate to specific formations.
 All there is to physical life is changing matter from one formation to another and
